More detail on Iphone 2

The rumors about second gen Iphone are getting more authoritative each day. Here’s what Engadget managed to uncover:

  • The first thing people will notice: the 2nd gen iPhone will be about the same size and shape as the first gen.
  • It will, of course, have 3G. And proper GPS!
  • The most noticeable physical difference is back of the phone is no longer metal — the whole thing is glossy black, from top to bottom. The volume buttons are now chrome.
  • Because it’s got a little less metal to deal with, it doesn’t have quite as many angular edges. The battery is (still) not removable.
  • The phone itself will be slightly thicker than the first gen device.
  • The headphone jack will no longer be recessed, and will finally be flush with the body.
  • The device itself uses roughly the same size and resolution screen as the first generation product.
  • No solid word on battery life or storage capacity.

Estimated ship date is July.

Business cards for everyone

Written by Irwan on April 24, 2008 – 1:16 pm

I’ve never had my own business card because I never found the use of it. Now as I’m getting more involved in defining who I am, I need some kind of identifier for strangers. To do so, there is nothing more gentlemanly other than giving them your business card.

Ooprint is having a promotion for free 100 Blogger/Business cards. As there is no free lunch, I have to pay $5.90 for shipping, $3 for optional thicker white paper, $2 for optional crystal case and last but not literally not least, VAT (tax) which is close to 20%. The total for my extra perks is $13.01.

Here is what I got after a little customization.

Not bad huh? By the way, half way through the ordering process, I changed my mind.

As summer is approaching, I’m going to use these cards in Malaysia. So I need to put my local contact number which I don’t have yet. I am going to postpone the purchase until I get back to Malaysia. Besides, the shipping is the same anywhere in the world. If you need some professional looking cards or just for fun having business card, get you free card from Ooprint today.

Defining my life, as it goes on

Written by Irwan on April 20, 2008 – 3:07 pm

Today I’ve changed my blog description. It used to be ’my chronological journey towards financial freedom’ and now it’s ’defining my life, as it goes on’.

I want this blog to be broader in its sense. Not only I care about my financial well being, I would also like to emphasize other aspects in my life, that will truly define who I am.

Are you waiting for 3G iphone?

Written by Irwan on April 19, 2008 – 3:05 pm

I am! and I’m really excited that I readily would sell my current 8gb Iphone once 3G model is out. Rumors are getting hot about June released date for Iphone 3G.

First, many EU providers either already cut Iphone price or in talks to cut Iphone price. The move is to clear out abundant unsold stock due to their overestimated sale figures. Here’s another story that’s just in.

Clearing Inventory for ’radically different’ 3G iPhone?

Second, Apple store used to ship Iphone in 1-3 business days, now it’s changed to 5-7 days. This just-in-time production strategy is believed to reduce overall inventory to minimize unsold older units later.

Third, many sources including AT&T CEO implied indirectly that Iphone is coming sooner. Nobody knows when is sooner but WWDC which is in June, is a good guess.

June is always a good month to release hot item. It reduces the risk of out-of-stock scenario as the demand is moderately strong, not as strong as end of year holiday season, but still adequate to gather needed media attention.

There’s lot more rumors but I guess all the reading will point to one conclusion; 3G Iphone is imminent and we all shall wait for it.

Why I want to hire women more than men

Written by Irwan on April 17, 2008 – 5:06 pm

As of now, all my businesses are under radar(unofficial). If I were to open an office to officialise (wow I don’t know office and official is related) my business, I would hire women more than men.

I want a very efficient workers that has to worry about nothing except her job. Women are very organize, understanding which explains why they are easily emotional, and of course a pleasure to work with.

Men can do work faster, have higher creativity, sometimes could be harder to be motivated (the word ’lazy’ is too harsh), are faster to learn about something that’s out of their league and emotionally resilient.

It’s not women vs men post but I just want to say that female workers are better suited to work with me. What do you guys think?
